Family reunion photo shoot in Monaco

Imagine a lovely sunny day, green garden somewhere in Monte Carlo and a couple of running kids around you..1..2..3..4…5!
That’s what my recent photo shoot looked like. It was great and fun! Not to mention that it was a real pleasure to photograph their beautiful russian mother – Katya & her handsome husband George, the whole family is so photogenic, it’s almost hard to believe!

Children studio photography

Children and teenagers studio portraits

From now on I’ll be posting some more photos of children and teenagers that I regularly photograph in the studio. It’s such a pleasant work that I don’t see the time passing by!  I’ve equipped myself with a couple of books about children and studio photography to become a “specialist” in this domain. Each week is a new challenge and discovery for me as every child is different and what works for 5 yo doesn’t necessarily work for 9 yo! Some kids love to pose while others are more reserved, that’s why establishing a good contact with them a while before a photo shoot is essential.

Children studio photography

I’ve started a new collaboration with an agency specialized in children studio photography. During the time of carnival in Nice, a professional make-up artist was hired for this occasion. She was able to draw anything that a child can imagine. I have never photographed so many kids at once and I must say I really enjoyed it! They are so innocent and sweet, working with them is fun and it’s all about gaining their trust and making friends with them. I’ve also noticed that sometimes a shy child can become very energetic very quickly!

Family photo shoot

I’ve found some photos taken three years ago, of an adorable family that has asked me for a photo shoot outdoor.
We went to Domaine Renoir in Cagnes sur mer offering quite big and empty olive garden, perfect for a family portrait session on a sunny day. I love how happy they look together!

Marissa & Chloe – mother and child portrait photography

Photographing a mother and her child is one of the most pleasant moments, especially when the child is cute and mom is a pretty lady! A year ago Marissa has asked me for a pregnancy photo shoot as a surprise gift for her husband. I remember when we were carefully hiding this information from him on the day of the shoot. Time goes by so fast and now little Chloé Carmella has come into the world! Apart from having a mother & baby photo shoot simply as a souvenir, these photos will also serve Marissa to be sent to a kids model agency.

If you’d also like your baby to become a child model here are some tips. We’ve tried several outfits, indoors, outdoors and combinations to vary a bit. Below is my favourite shot – pearls are girl’s best friend (pyjama will soon be replaced by a cocktail dress) :-) Photo shoot may be a bit tiring for small babies, who don’t necessarily want to stay put in one place, so it’s good if mom can pass behind a photographer and do something funny to keep the attention of her baby and point it to the camera. For more about baby photography ideas click here. Once again it was a very enjoyable day, especially after eating a couple of scones with cranberries – straight from Galesville, Marissa’s hometown, lucky me!

Coucou Marta!
Just wanted to let you know, last night I sent 1 photo to the agency…and the sent me an email AND called me this morning to tell me they would LOVE to represent Chloe as her agency and see Chloe right away to do castings..They said your photo caught their eye instantly, being that they recieve plenty of photos daily of babies…but your photo of the little cutie is what did it! :-) ))))
